Aftercare Tips
Proper aftercare is crucial for the healing process. Follow these steps for optimal healing:
Keep it clean: Clean your piercing twice daily with saline solution, this can be purchased in store.
Avoid touching: Keep your hands away from your new piercing to prevent irritation.
Be gentle: Avoid sleeping on your new piercing and be cautious with clothing, accessories, and hair products.
Stay away from pools: Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, rivers, and lakes until your piercing is fully healed. If you have a holiday planned, please speak to our piercing team about this prior to your appointment.
Pets: Please be mindful pet hair can also cause irritation to a new piercing.
For more detailed aftercare instructions, check out our aftercare page or speak to our piercing team.

Normal side effects of getting a piercing typically include:
1. Pain and Tenderness: It's common to experience some pain and tenderness around the piercing site. This usually subsides within a few days to a week.
2. Redness and Swelling: The area around the piercing may be red and swollen. This is a natural response to the skin being punctured and should decrease over time.
3. Bleeding: Slight bleeding is normal, especially in the first few hours/days after getting the piercing.
4. Bruising: Some bruising around the pierced area can occur and should resolve within a few days to a week.
5. Itching: As the piercing heals, itching can occur. It's a sign that the body is repairing itself.
6. Crusting: As the discharge dries, it can form a crust around the jewellery. This is normal and can be gently cleaned with saline solution.
7. Sensitivity to Touch: The area may be more sensitive to touch or pressure.
These side effects are typically mild and temporary. However, if you experience severe pain, excessive swelling, persistent redness, or signs of infection (such as green or yellow pus, fever, or streaks of red extending from the piercing site), you should seek medical attention.
